Easter Brunch

Easter came at a perfect time for my family this year. It fell just a few weeks after our kitchen remodel was complete, so we decided we needed to have a special celebration for our first holiday in the new kitchen. We had a beautiful brunch and here is a little peak at its success:

I made ribbon topiary trees for centerpieces on one of our tables. They are the perfect mix of colors for spring and summer so I am able to use them for more than just the Easter holiday. But these are such a fun way to bring a lot of color to a decorative piece. I would love to make these for every holiday in that particular holidays color scheme but they do take a lot of time and work, although I do think they are worth it...

Our Daughter had her very own Easter place setting

You can't forget the candy on Easter..

Our new baby Hudson who is due in September even got his own Easter basket with a little surprise card...

We decided to announce Hudson's name on Easter to the family to make the day special. We didn't tell anyone the name until that day and it was a fun way to make the announcement special. My Dad, Scott read the card out loud to the family once we all sat down to eat.

It's a boy!!!

It's a boy!! We found out just last week that we are going to be having a baby boy this September. His name is.... Hudson Scott Rivas!! We couldn't be any happier!

Now on to decorating his nursery and figuring a design. I am already set on a Safari/jungle theme, it must have Giraffes!
