I have some really exciting news to finally share with the world. We sold our house!!! My husband and I had been talking for awhile now about selling our home and moving closer towards his work and to a town with better schooling for the kids in the near future. With the market the way it currently is around us we were nervous about initially putting the home on the market because we didn't want to rush to purchase a new home the moment ours sold but we took the risk, listed the house and began our search.
We looked in many towns around us at different types of homes and we were not completely happy with what we were seeing. One afternoon I got a call from our agent and she told us that another agent in her office called her to get advise on listing a home in a town she wasn't familiar with. Upon describing the home our agent jumped in and asked if she could actually just sell the home for her to her clients (us). So a very long story short we were able to get in and view the home before it went on the market and we absolutely fell in love! The home was older, built in the 70's and all original 70's carpet, paint, cabinets etc. but the best part was the property. It is on 1.6 acres down a very quiet street and it sits off the main street down a private lane. The property has gorgeous matured oak and redwood trees and the views around the property were completely breath taking.
After our agent begged and begged, the family of the home agreed to let us submit an offer before it hit the market and in the end we got it!! This whole process has gone by so fast that we really haven't had time to let it all soak in.. The process from listing our home to sell and getting in contract on the selling of the home and the purchase of the new home took us ONE week!! We are completely thrilled beyond words to take this next chapter in our life.
We now have another house to remodel so just know that is why I have been a little MIA lately on the blog. I will take some pictures of the new home soon and will share our adventures of getting settled in the new home and all the remodeling and decorating that we have ahead.
