Pennant Banner Tutorial

Today I am sharing with you this very simple tutorial on how to make a pennant flag banner like the one I used in my daughters new big girl bedroom. This takes time but it really is very basic and as long as you know how to work a sewing machine to make a straight line then you should be able to make it.

First I started by taking a pennant shape that you can easily just print from a Google search
Then I cut out all of my fabric for the flags using a template that fit the size I wanted.
I cut the fabric in two layers with the right sides facing each other.
Then sew a straight line down one side and up the other of the two pieces of fabric leaving the top open.

Turn all pennants inside out and iron them flat.

For the strand to make the banner that the pennants are sewn onto I used a pink Wrights Extra Wide Double Fold bias tape like shown above.
I tried to space them evenly at about 1.5-2 inches apart
Once you have the pennants ready you want to figure out how long you want the strand and add the pennants using pins to the bias tape according to your size needed.
I used pins to hold the pennants in place then did a straight like across the entire bias tape holding all the pennants onto the strand.
So simple and easy!
