Despicable Me- Minion Party Ideas

It's hard to imagine our little guy is going to be 3 soon!! It seems like just yesterday we were preparing his nursery for his arrival. Now at almost 3 years old he is a total boy in all ways. He loves cars, trains, airplanes, dirt, being outside- pretty much all things boy! The one "thing" he has talked about and has been in love with lately is the Despicable Me movies and especially those cute little Minions, so when we asked what theme he would like for his birthday it was no surprised when he yelled "MINIONS!"

This year his birthday party is not going to be as lavish as his past Sesame Street 1st birthday or his Barnyard/Farm themed 2nd birthday because in a few weeks we will be celebrating in Disneyland! In 2012 we celebrated our daughters 3rd birthday in Disneyland and knew we had to do the same for him on his 3rd birthday.

So this year we will be having a "dinner party" with our family and close family friends before our trip. Of course I initially began jotting down notes for his Minion themed party but then I took to Pinterest and was awed by all the amazing Despicable Me parties people have thrown. You can completely get carried away with this theme. While trying to keep things to a minimum I wanted to share some great findings for a "Minion" party that I found along the way.

First I wanted to share this absolutely adorable party by Somewhere in the Middle. My favorite part was for sure the Box of Shame she created. If you have seen the movie then you would know how cute this addition would be to any Despicable Me party.

Also from Somewhere in the Middle is this adorable Party Rules sign. Also to go along with the movie this is an adorable way to "welcome" your guests :)

A very simple way to add a pop of color to go with the theme are these napkin and plastic ware sets. I love the details that were put into this Despicable Me party that was featured on Kara's Party Ideas.

Also from Kara's Party Ideas Despicable Me Party is this beautiful example of the pops of colors that they used. Going along with a themes colors can make a great statement and I just love the uses of color in this party.

This fun dessert table was one of my favorites because of the awesome cake in the center and I loved all of the simple but fun food and decor that was added to the table. Take a look at the rest of the party over on Catch My Party.

These Minion Balloons seen over on Catch My Party are a great way to decorate some simple yellow balloons to add to the theme.

If only I intended to have games at my son's party I would totally make this adorable "Pin the goggles on the Minion game" found over on Catch My Party.

Last but definitely not least is this sweet Despicable Me party by Happy Home Fairy. I just love all the details that she put into her son's birthday party. My favorite parts were these favor bags and the Robot Cookies below. Check out the rest of the party here.
